Objects of Desire

Aisha Madu graduated in Animation from the Utrecht School of the Arts. Seen through the prism of physicality, her work explores concepts of dysfunction and the body’s discomfort.

Objects of Affection addresses subjects such as love, vulnerability, and shame, through Madu’s visualisations of the human body. Underscored by a candid, direct visual language and narrative style, Madu creates powerful depictions of characters filled with longing. Animated bodies transform into obstacles or incarnations of their desire. The work blurs the boundary between the human and the object, resulting in intimate, awkward, and humorous situations.
