Tulipa

David Laport graduated in Fashion and Textile Design from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague.

The inspiration for Tulipa comes from mutant flowers. In creating new shapes and structures, cultivators use high-end technology and viruses to make flowers sick. In doing so, bizarre shapes and forms come into existence. With these mutated flowers in mind, Laport translated this process to designing garments. He based his collection on three stages of flower growth: in bud, in bloom, and senescence.
